Hardly Strickly Bluegrass

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2008 is October 3, 4 and 5th at Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park San Francisco, CA. Warren Hellman, famed investment banker and amateur banjo player, gifts San Francisco every year with a concert billed with some of greatest acoustic performers in the country. This year’s lineup included notable bands: Elvis Costello High Whines & Spirits, Gogol Bordello,
Nick Lowe, Iron & Wine, The Waybacks,The Wronglers.cks, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Loundon Wainwright III, Ben Kweller, Robert Plant with Alison Krauss, MC Hammer, and of course Warren’s band. The wildest part of this show being it was absolutly free. Sadly I was only able to attend the Saturday performance and missed Plant & Krauss on Friday as well as Elvis Costello and Tea Leaf Green on Sunday.
